Everything you need to know about buying, sourcing, selling and trading luxury timepieces with CHWD Timeworks.
Buying a Watch
Usually, yes — that's the core of what we do. We work a global network of independent distributors and dealers trading the same references outside the authorized channel. Tell us the reference and the specification you want and we'll confirm availability and a firm price, typically within 24 hours.
Both, and most of what we sell is pre-owned. On a lot of references a clean pre-owned example costs several thousand less than an unworn one you would not be able to tell apart. Where brand new is what you want, we get brand new — no allocation required. We'll give you the honest read on your reference either way.
Tell us the reference. We confirm availability and a firm price within 24 hours. A 10% deposit — fully refundable — starts the search, and most references are secured within 24 to 72 hours. If we can't find one matching your criteria within seven days, your deposit is returned in full. Full detail on the Sourcing page.
Every timepiece is guaranteed authentic. Serial numbers, movement and components are verified against factory specification before a watch ships, and if any watch we sell is ever shown not to be genuine we refund it in full — no time limit. Watches sold through eBay are additionally inspected by eBay's independent authenticators, and our Chrono24 listings carry Chrono24 buyer protection. You're also welcome to have any watch examined by a watchmaker of your choosing before funds move — just ask.
Condition is disclosed in full in every listing, including wear, and photographed honestly rather than shot around a flaw. Most of what we sell is pre-owned. Brand new pieces are unworn and sealed with box and papers. Every listing states the scope of delivery — box, papers, full set, or watch only. Want to see a particular area close up? Ask and we'll send more photographs of that exact spot.
Bank wire and cryptocurrency. Wire instructions and wallet details come directly from us, and we will never ask you for card details. The same two methods apply to a sourcing deposit and to the balance.
No. We accept bank wire and cryptocurrency only.
Card processing on a $30,000 watch costs roughly a thousand dollars, and that cost ends up in the price of the watch. Keeping payment simple is part of how our pricing stays where it is.
Selling & Trading
Start by reaching out through our contact page with details about your watch. We'll evaluate it against current market data and provide a competitive offer within 24 hours. If you accept, we send a fully insured prepaid shipping label and payment is issued within 24 hours of receipt.
Yes. We welcome trades on most major luxury brands. You can trade toward any piece in our current inventory, or tell us what you're after and we'll source it. Multiple watches can be applied toward a single trade.
Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Vacheron Constantin, Omega, IWC, Hublot, Cartier, Panerai, and A. Lange & Söhne, among others. If you're unsure, just ask.
Shipping & Security
Fully insured overnight shipping, tracked, with signature required. Watches are packaged discreetly and professionally — nothing on the outside indicates what's inside.
Yes. Every watch we ship is fully insured for the total transaction value from the moment it leaves until it arrives at its destination.
About CHWD Timeworks
Access. The watches people most want are the hardest ones to simply go and buy — the new ones are allocated before they reach a boutique, and the clean pre-owned examples get placed privately between dealers and never reach a public listing. We work that market. Tell us the reference and we'll go and find it, pre-owned or brand new, usually within 24 to 72 hours. And we'll tell you honestly which of the two is the better buy, even when the new one earns us more.
We don't operate a retail showroom. We'll send you as much additional photography as you want of any piece, and for any transaction you're welcome to have the watch examined by an independent watchmaker of your choosing before funds move. Call or text (619) 737-3572 and we'll set it up.
No, and that's deliberate. We are an independent dealer with no affiliation to any brand we sell. It's what gives us the range and the pricing — we're not restricted to one maison's allocation, and we're not carrying a boutique's overhead.
